What did you do when you were a kid besides playing with your new toys during Christmas? Did you make cupcakes or cookies for the holidays?

Decorating cupcakes for the holidays is the kind of thing that sticks with you. A fun family tradition. A must-have activity approaching Christmas Day.

THE BEST HOLIDAY MEMORIES

For me, it wasn’t cupcakes. Although my mom is an amazing baker who taught me most of what I know. But every year I would help her make pastelitos (Dominican mini fried meat-filled patties).

She always had to make extra filling because I would eat almost half of it by the time we were done making them.

To this day, no matter where I live, I always go home for Christmas. Today, home is where the family’s gathered, and that’ll be Florida. And my mom always waits for me to get there so that we can make the meat patties together.

She still saves the extra meat for me too. Love her so much!

I tell you this story because I think if you make cupcakes with the kids, they’re gonna love every second of it. You didn’t think I was gonna say Dominican patties, did you? ? Even though they’re so freaking delicious! (Mental note: I need to figure out how to make a healthier version, then I’ll share the recipe with you.)

And I have 11 Awesome and Easy Cupcake Tutorials for Your Christmas Celebration. You can choose to make one or all! Okay, all might be too much. But hey, no judgment here, knock yourself out, lol.

I plan to choose at least one of these cupcake designs to make with my nieces once I get to Florida for the family gathering.

I won’t keep you waiting any longer…
